How To Build A Deeper Relationship With God.
Hello Blessings,
Welcome!!!!
YAY first blog post, I thought for the first post we should start at the beginning which is how to build a deeper relationship God as a beginner.
When you first become a Christian, it can be an exhilarating experience all at once. You’ve just made a life-changing decision, but the road ahead may feel uncertain. You might find yourself asking, “What do I do now?” The excitement of salvation is real, but figuring out how to deepen that relationship with God can leave you feeling unsure of where to start. You might have a lot of questions, or perhaps you’re eager to grow but don’t know how. That’s completely normal. As a new believer, it’s important to know that growing closer to God isn’t about perfection; it’s about cultivating a genuine relationship. To help you navigate this exciting new chapter, here are some practical ways to draw near to God, strengthen your faith, and build a solid foundation for your Christian walk.

1 Deepen Your Prayer Life
Prayer is the "heartbeat" of a relationship with God. It’s not just a routine or request line, it’s an intimate conversation. In the Bible, Jesus modeled prayer as both a means of communion and a spiritual weapon. In Luke 5:16, it says, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” He valued the time spent in prayer and solitude with the Father.
To deepen your prayer life:
Make time for intentional, uninterrupted prayer: Carve out time each day to focus on God, whether it’s in the morning, during lunch, or before bed. This can be through spoken words, written prayers, or quiet reflection.
Learn to listen: Prayer is not only about speaking but also about listening. Set aside your distractions and open your heart to hear God’s voice. Sometimes, His answers come in the quiet, or through the Scriptures.
Pray with purpose: Create prayer lists for specific things you want to intercede for—be it your family, friends, nation, or personal growth. Include prayers of gratitude as well. Regularly check back to see how God is answering.
Use different forms of prayer: Adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication (ACTS). These provide a more holistic approach to prayer, helping you move beyond just asking for things to deeply worshiping and aligning your heart with God.
Over time, as your prayer life matures, it will become more natural and less of a checklist. It will turn into a desire for a deeper connection.

2. Study the Bible Consistently
The Bible is God’s primary way of revealing Himself to us. It’s a treasure chest of wisdom, correction, encouragement, and truth. When you study Scripture, you don’t just gain knowledge; you gain understanding of God’s nature, His will, and His love for you. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Paul says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
To deepen your Bible study:
Commit to a reading plan: Whether you’re a new believer or have been walking with Christ for years, a structured Bible reading plan can help you systematically read through Scripture. There are many plans out there—from reading the Bible in a year to focusing on specific themes like grace, peace, or the life of Christ.
Meditate on the Word: Don’t just read for the sake of checking off a box. Take time to ponder and reflect on what you’ve read. Ask God to reveal how it applies to your life. Consider journaling your thoughts or prayers around the passage.
Study in community: While personal Bible study is important, discussing Scripture with others can bring out new insights. Join a small group or Bible study where you can explore God’s Word with others. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Memorize Scripture: Hide God’s Word in your heart (Psalm 119:11) so that it can guide you in moments of temptation, trial, or uncertainty. Having Bible verses stored up in your mind and spirit helps you feel more connected to God throughout the day.
Bible study isn’t just an intellectual pursuit; it’s a way to deepen your relationship with God by understanding His heart and purpose for your life.

3. Cultivate a Habit of Worship
Worship is the posture of the heart. It’s the response to God’s majesty, love, and grace. Worship isn’t confined to a church service or a particular style of music; it’s about honoring God in every aspect of your life. As Romans 12:1 says, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
To cultivate a deeper habit of worship:
Worship in Spirit and Truth: In John 4:23, Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that true worshipers will worship in spirit and truth. This means worshiping with authenticity and surrender, not just going through the motions. Let your heart reflect the awe and wonder you have for God.
Embrace different expressions of worship: Worship can take many forms. It can be through singing, dancing, serving, or even through a peaceful walk in nature, appreciating God’s creation. If you are musically inclined, spend time playing instruments or singing songs of praise. If not, embrace other ways to honor God through your everyday activities.
Give God your best: Worship is about offering the best of yourself. In Colossians 3:23, Paul says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Whether it’s your work, your family, or a simple task, offer it to God as an act of worship.
Set aside time for corporate worship: While personal worship is important, gathering with fellow believers is essential. There’s a unique power and presence of God when His people come together in worship. Corporate worship strengthens and deepens your individual connection with God.
True worship brings God into focus and creates an atmosphere where His presence can transform you.

4. Serve Others
Jesus modeled a life of service. He didn’t come to be served but to serve (Matthew 20:28). Serving others is one of the most tangible ways to grow closer to God because it mirrors the love and humility of Christ. In serving, we reflect God’s love to others and develop a heart that’s more like His.
To grow in service:
Look for opportunities to serve in your community: Whether it’s helping someone with groceries, serving at a shelter, or offering your time and skills to those in need, look for small and large ways to be Jesus’ hands and feet.
Serve with humility: The key is serving without expecting recognition. In Matthew 6:3, Jesus says, “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” Serve quietly and let your actions point to Christ.
Serve in the church: Volunteering in your local church can deepen your connection with the body of believers and also allow you to be part of something larger than yourself.
Learn to serve with a joyful heart: Sometimes service can be demanding or exhausting. But when you serve with a heart of gratitude and joy, you align yourself with the heart of Jesus, who served others with selflessness.
Serving others not only blesses those you help, but it helps shape you into the likeness of Christ and draws you closer to His heart.

5. Surround Yourself with Fellow Believers
No one is meant to walk the Christian journey alone. God designed us for community. In Hebrews 10:24-25, we are urged to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
To strengthen your community and grow closer to God:
You’re in the right place! Come with us join the Blessing Filled community of young adults who want to grow a relationship with Jesus! You could also join a church family: Being part of a church body allows you to be rooted in teaching, worship, and service. It also provides the accountability and fellowship you need for spiritual growth.
Build relationships with other believers: Seek out relationships with others who can challenge, encourage, and pray with you. Join small groups or Bible studies where you can share your struggles and victories.
Engage in discipleship: Find someone who can mentor you in your faith, or mentor someone else who is newer to the Christian walk. Discipleship helps you grow in understanding and encourages deeper spiritual development.
Pray together: There’s power in praying together. Find people to pray with, whether in small groups, at church, or one-on-one. Prayer creates unity and strengthens bonds within the body of Christ.
Surrounding yourself with other believers helps you stay grounded in your faith and strengthens your relationship with God through shared experiences and mutual support.
Have A Blessed Day! We Hope This Helps!
